Weight loss

Your weight-loss breakthrough,priced up front.

Prices are the full monthly price with the provider visit, medication, and shipping included, locked at booking. These plans are not the branded products shown on the brand-name card. The results badge reflects the largest mean weight loss reported in the published trials cited on the weight-loss page; individual results vary.

Compounded medications are not FDA-approved

Compounded medications, including compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide, are not FDA-approved as compounded products. The FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are marketed. A licensed provider will determine whether a compounded or brand-name medication is appropriate for you.

A note from the founder

“Millions of Americans overpay for prescriptions because pricing is hidden, inconsistent, and often impossible to predict until they reach the pharmacy counter.”

01

How it works

What the site does, what it costs, and whether you need an account.

Is BetterBuyRx really free?

Yes. Searching, comparing, tracking prices, and drop alerts are all free, and they stay free. Gold membership is free forever with no credit card required. We always sort lowest-price-first, no pharmacy can pay for placement, and when a home-delivery option is cheaper we still show it first.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You can search and compare prices for any drug, use the free discount card, and track a price as a browser notification without signing up. A free Gold account adds the ability to save the medications you take, manage your price alerts, and sync across devices.

Do I need insurance to compare prices?

No. BetterBuyRx compares cash and discount prices you can pay without insurance. If you have coverage such as VA, TRICARE, Kaiser, or a Medicare Part D insulin cap, your plan may be cheaper than any cash price shown here.

02

Coupons and the free card

How our card, GoodRx, TrumpRx, and manufacturer programs show up in results.

Does BetterBuyRx sell a discount card?

No. The BetterBuyRx discount card is completely free. We are a comparison platform first: results are ranked by price, no pharmacy or card program pays for placement, and our card gets no special treatment. If another free coupon or a cash price is cheaper, that is what we show.

How do GoodRx and TrumpRx fit in?

GoodRx provides free coupons and pharmacy-price comparisons; TrumpRx lists prescription offers, including generics. We show coupon prices next to each pharmacy's own cash price and home-delivery options so you can see which is cheapest for your fill. Sometimes a GoodRx coupon wins, sometimes another program or a pharmacy's cash price does. Compare the exact medication, dose, quantity, location, and offer terms before you choose.

How do I use a coupon at the counter?

Open the price you want and show the pharmacist the card codes on screen or on the printed card. The pharmacist enters them like an insurance card. The price on the row is the price we most recently verified for that exact medication, strength, and quantity; confirm it at the counter before paying.

03

Location and dose changes

What happens to results when your ZIP, strength, or quantity changes.

Why does my ZIP code matter?

ZIP affects in-person pharmacy ranking and local pickup options. Online cash prices ship nationwide and don't change by ZIP. Set your location with the location control on the results page, either by entering a five-digit U.S. ZIP or by allowing browser location.

How do I change the strength or quantity?

Use the Form, Strength, and Quantity chips at the top of a medication page. Every row re-prices for the exact combination you pick, and you can enter a custom quantity if your prescription does not match a chip. Prices for a different strength are a separate search, not a scaled estimate.

04

Online care

Visits with licensed clinicians, one published price, no membership fee.

What is Online care?

Online care is our telehealth offering: visits with licensed clinicians and treatments for weight loss, hormones, sexual health, hair loss, longevity, glucose monitoring, and labs. Every service has one published price shown before booking, the price is locked when you book, and there is no membership fee. It starts with a free consultation with the care team at /care.

What does a care price include?

The published monthly price for a treatment program includes the provider visit, the medication when a clinician prescribes it, and shipping. It is shown before you book and locked at booking. There is no separate membership fee and no price that changes after the visit.

05

PBM Commons

Public PBM contracts and their source documents, scored in the open.

What is PBM Commons?

PBM Commons is our public research desk for pharmacy benefit manager contracts. It publishes government PBM contracts and their source documents and reviews them against the open source model contract Mark Cuban published. Council readings are attributed analysis, not legal determinations or government endorsements.

Can I request a contract that is missing?

Yes. The request desk at /commons/request helps you find missing PBM agreements and exhibits and prepare a public information request addressed to the responsible public body. Open requests are tracked in public.

06

Pricing and accuracy

What the numbers mean and where they can differ from the counter.

Are the prices guaranteed?

No price comparison tool can guarantee a pharmacy's final checkout price, because pharmacies change prices and apply local taxes. We show the most recently verified price and the timestamp so you can judge freshness. Always confirm the price at the pharmacy counter before paying.

Where do the prices come from?

We run source adapters across pharmacy and program sources, including a CMS wholesale benchmark for reference, published store generic lists, transparent-pricing and mail-order pharmacies, and free coupon networks. Every quote stores its source and the time it was fetched.

07

Privacy and account

Your data, your alerts, and what an account is for.

How do price alerts work?

Open any medication's page and press "Track this price". We set the alert target at the lowest verified price on screen and notify you when a pharmacy beats it. Signed in, the alert is saved to your free Gold account, where you can manage or stop it any time. Not signed in, we can send a browser notification instead, with no account needed; if your browser does not allow notifications we offer the free account as the fallback.

Do you sell my data?

No. We don't sell personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or pharmacies. We don't run third-party ad pixels or cross-site tracking. See our privacy policy for full detail.

BetterBuyRx is a prescription price comparison and savings platform that helps users compare pharmacy prices and find lower-cost prescription options. No paid placement, no "preferred" pharmacies, and no ranking games like GoodRx, TrumpRx, or the rest. Compare cash and coupon prices across pharmacies.

If you have VA, TRICARE, Kaiser, or Medicare Part D insulin-cap coverage, your plan may be cheaper than any cash price shown here.
