Weight loss, online care

Starting at $149/month · free doctor consultation included

Hims calls it $39. Your GLP-1 is extra.

Ro and LifeMD do it too. The cheap first month covers the program, not the medication. BetterBuy Rx publishes the treatment price before you book.

Provider approval required. A licensed provider reviews every request and prescribes only when clinically appropriate, we never sell prescription medication directly.

Compounded medications are not FDA-approved

Compounded medications, including compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide, are not FDA-approved as compounded products. The FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are marketed. A licensed provider will determine whether a compounded or brand-name medication is appropriate for you.

Sometimes packages save money. Sometimes they don't. We do the math either way.

Semaglutide

  • 3-month package

    $1,549

Tirzepatide

vs paying $299/mo (10 mg+ / week)

    $1,125
  • 6-month package

costs $405 MORE than paying monthly, skip it

    $2,199

These package prices are set with our medical partner. Where a package costs more than paying month to month, we say so and recommend monthly. Savings shown are computed against the highest-tier monthly price; at lower semaglutide doses, monthly always wins.

Prefer brand-name?

Branded GLP-1 care, $75/mo not $149.

Want brand-name Wegovy®, Ozempic®, or Zepbound® through your insurance or a manufacturer program? We run the provider visits, prescriptions, and refill management for $75/mo. The medication itself is billed separately by your pharmacy or plan, we add nothing to it. Compare that to the $149/mo memberships elsewhere.

The science

Why GLP-1s work when willpower alone doesn't.

GLP-1 medications mimic a gut hormone that slows stomach emptying and signals fullness to your brain, turning down the biological noise of appetite rather than asking you to out-discipline it.

  • In the STEP 1 trial, adults on weekly semaglutide 2.4 mg lost a mean 14.9% of body weight over 68 weeks vs 2.4% on placebo, alongside lifestyle intervention (Wilding et al., NEJM 2021).¹
  • In SURMOUNT-1, adults on weekly tirzepatide 15 mg lost up to 20.9% of body weight over 72 weeks vs 3.1% on placebo (Jastreboff et al., NEJM 2022).²

¹ Wilding JPH et al. Once-Weekly Semaglutide in Adults with Overweight or Obesity. N Engl J Med 2021;384:989-1002.

² Jastreboff AM et al. Tirzepatide Once Weekly for the Treatment of Obesity. N Engl J Med 2022;387:205-216.

Trial results reflect brand-name medication at the doses studied, taken with diet and exercise support. Individual results vary, and compounded formulations have not been separately studied in these trials.

Results vary. Clinical trial results apply only to the FDA-approved branded medication specifically identified and do not apply to compounded medications. All medications must be prescribed by a licensed provider based on medical necessity.

Appetite signal, quieted

420 points of noise settling into a downward curve, the direction the trials point when the biology gets help.

The dose journey

Your dose moves. Your price doesn't.

  1. 0.5 mg / week

    Start low

Most providers begin semaglutide at 0.5 mg weekly (after any initial micro-titration) so your body can adjust and side effects stay manageable.

  2. 0.75 mg / week

    Step up

If you're tolerating it well, your provider steps the dose up. Appetite quiets further. At most competitors, this is where the bill jumps.

  3. 1 mg+ / week

    Reach your working dose

The dose where results compound. Trials ran semaglutide to 2.4 mg weekly, your provider finds the level that's right for you.

  4. Maintenance

    Stay there · published price

0.5 mg is $149/mo. 0.75 mg and 1 mg+ are $149/mo. The dose is a clinical decision; the price is published before you book.

Read this part

GLP-1s are serious medicine. Treat them that way.

Common side effects

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and stomach discomfort, most often during dose increases, usually easing as your body adjusts. Your provider titrates slowly for exactly this reason.

Serious risks

Rare but real: pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, and severe hypoglycemia when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas. Semaglutide and tirzepatide carry a boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumors seen in rodent studies, don't use them with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2.

Who shouldn't take them

People who are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding; anyone with the thyroid history above; and anyone already on another GLP-1. Tell your provider every medication you take, that's what the visit is for.

Full, treatment-by-treatment safety information: including FDA label sources, is here. If you experience severe abdominal pain, vision changes, or signs of an allergic reaction, seek medical care immediately.

Doctor-reviewed, always

A provider decides. Never a sales page.

Board-certified providers licensed in your state review every request, your health history, your medications, your goals. If a GLP-1 isn't appropriate for you, they'll say so and talk through what is. Follow-ups and dose changes are part of the plan, not an upsell.

Provider approval required. A licensed provider reviews every request and prescribes only when clinically appropriate, we never sell prescription medication directly.

Do you qualify?

A quick, honest read before you book.

This may be a fit if

  • Adults with a BMI of 30 or higher
  • Adults with a BMI of 27 or higher plus a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or sleep apnea
  • People who have tried diet and exercise changes and want medical support alongside them

This is not for you if

  • You are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding
  • You have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2
  • You are already taking a GLP-1 medication from another source
  • You are under 18

A BMI number is a starting point, not a decision. A licensed provider reviews your full health history and prescribes only when treatment is clinically appropriate for you.

Fair questions

Asked and answered.

Is there a membership fee?
No. Included with your free Gold membership. You pay for the visit and the medication, nothing else. No monthly fee, ever. Treatments and medications are priced separately, at the prices published on this page, and signup and payment happen inside your BetterBuy Rx care portal.
How is each dose priced?
One published price per dose tier. Semaglutide is $149/mo at 0.5 mg and $149/mo at 0.75 mg and 1 mg+. Tirzepatide is $299 / $299 / $299 by tier. Visit, medication, and shipping are inside those numbers.
What happens at the first visit?
You complete a clinical intake online, health history, medications, goals. A licensed provider in your state reviews it, follows up with any questions, and decides whether treatment is appropriate. If it is, your prescription ships free from a licensed U.S. pharmacy. If it isn't, they'll tell you that instead.
Do you take insurance?
Compounded programs are cash-pay, that's how one flat number covers everything. If you want brand-name medication through insurance or a manufacturer program, the $75/mo branded membership handles the provider side while your plan covers the medication.
What's the catch with compounded semaglutide?
Compounded medications are prepared by licensed pharmacies but are not FDA-approved products, they aren't reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality before dispensing. That's a real trade-off, and it's why this page says it plainly rather than in a footnote. Your provider will discuss whether compounded or branded is right for you.
Should I buy a multi-month package?
Run the numbers, we did, above. At today's prices both the semaglutide and tirzepatide packages cost more than paying monthly, so we recommend monthly. Whatever you choose, the comparison is on this page.
Can I switch from Hims, Ro, Mochi, or another provider?
Yes, the online visit covers your current treatment and dose so your provider can continue or adjust it appropriately. Bring your current dose information to the visit; there's no transfer fee, and every treatment price you'd pay is published on this page.

From $149 a month. The price is the marketing.

Start the online visit. A licensed provider decides if GLP-1 treatment is right for you.
